Hello and welcome to my personal site. My name is Rolando Rivas and I’m from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am a Web Designer/Developer with a passion for iPhoneography and all the moments that can be captured with such a small and practical device. I studied Web Design & Development in college, got my Web Master Certification but over the years it kinda grew old on me and decided to take a different path in life. Although not like before I still make websites, flyers, business cards and image retouching for chosen projects.
So what really is iPhoneography? iPhoneography (iPhone Photography), simply put, is the art of taking photos with an iPhone. Personally if the photo was taken with an iPhone, edited on an iPhone, it’s iPhoneography, but if it has been edited on a computer using Photoshop or any other editing program, it is not iPhoneography, it’s just another edited photo that you happened to capture with an iPhone.
Dozens if not hundreds of apps exist in the app store for taking and editing photos in your phone not needing a computer or a computer program to edit them.
My photography apps of choice
1. Hipstamatic – great for analog looking pictures, this is my number 1 app of choice
2. Camera+ – awesome editing tools and lots of them
3. Cameramatic – great filters and frames
4. Instagram – it’s like twitter but for images for sharing images between friends
5. Photo fx – lots of editing tools which can be applied in combinations using masks
About the site
Ever since I bought my iPhone 4 I wanted to have a site with a gallery to showcase all my photos, and a blog to talk about iPhoneography and other iOS stuff. The very same day I sat down and redesigned my site for those purposes.
